Protect Yourself From Fraud Manulife Bank takes financial fraud very seriously. We are committed to protecting the financial assets you have with us by working closely with law enforcement, other financial institutions and Regulatory Institutions to minimize risk exposures related to fraud.

Protect yourself and your computer
What can you do to protect yourself from fraud? A lot. Understanding how identity thieves steal your personal information and how they use it is the first step in preventing it from happening to you. Click on the links above to learn how you can protect your bank cards and your identity.

Learn how to protect your computer too. Visit the Canadian Bankers' Association site for all the latest information on fraud prevention. Go to the section "Fraud and Security" and click on the link "Protecting your Personal Information" for details about how you can guard your home computer. You may also want to sign up to automatically receive the fraud prevention "tip of the month" email.

What to do if you have become a victim of fraud
If you become a victim of fraud or suspect you might have become a victim, immediately report the incident to Manulife Bank. If a fraud loss has occurred, it is our intention to have a completed investigation within 10 business days however, depending on the circumstance(s), the investigation may take several weeks. Your cooperation is appreciated and will help to expedite the process. We will make every effort to ensure normal financial activity is not interrupted due to the investigation.

If we receive information that your Manulife Bank Access Card is at risk, we will cancel your card as a preventative measure and send a new card and PIN to you.

You may want to also contact the following offices to inform them of the situation:
  • Ministry of Transportation -- driver's licence and vehicle licence
  • Human Resources Development Canada -- Social Insurance Number
  • Passport office
