This calculator lets you explore three calculations to help you determine: your monthly payment, principal loan amount or interest rate for an Investment Loan.
1. Monthly Payment Amount
The monthly amount you pay for loan interest may be the same as the amount you would normally contribute to a traditional investment plan. While your "out of pocket" costs may be the same with a traditional investment strategy, leveraged investing has the potential to generate far greater returns because the principal amount invested has a longer time to grow.
2. Principal Loan Amount
Investing a larger amount all at once rather than making a series of small contributions over a long period of time allows a much larger investment to grow for your full investment period - which may generate a larger long-term return.
3. Interest Rate
The interest rate will determine the monthly loan payment that is required to service the loan.
There are some risks
associated with Investment Loans. We recommend that you seek your own legal, accounting, tax or professional advice to assess if this approach is right for you.
Select what you would like to calculate – Monthly Payment, Principal or Interest Rate. Enter the other two variables and click "Calculate."
For example, to calculate your Monthly Payment, select Monthly Payment. Enter your Principal loan amount and Interest Rate and click "Calculate" to obtain your Monthly Payment.

Borrowing to invest may be appropriate only for investors with higher risk tolerance. You should be fully aware of the risks and benefits associated with investment loans since losses as well as gains may be magnified. Preferred candidates are those willing to invest for the long term and not adverse to increased risk. The value of your investment will vary and is not guaranteed; however, you must meet your loan and income tax obligations and repay the loan in full. Please ensure you read the terms of your loan agreement and the investment details for important information. The dealer and advisor are responsible for determining the appropriateness of investments for their clients and informing them of the risks associated with borrowing to invest.
