How to send a wire transfer
When sending a wire transfer, there are a lot of specific details you need to include to ensure we can process your transfer as quickly as possible. And depending on where you’re sending a wire transfer to, the required information will vary.
Please review the information below and ensure you have everything covered before submitting your wire transfer request. We’re required by regulation to collect all the listed information to understand the complete nature of the transaction, the involved parties, and reasons for the transfer.
Once you’ve collected the details, there are two ways to submit your wire transfer request:
- Through the Manulife Bank mobile app (limit of $50,000 CAD per transfer)
- Call us at 1-877-765-2265
Sending a wire transfer to a currency exchange service provider or to purchase cryptocurrency
If you’re sending money to a currency/foreign currency exchange service provider, to a cryptocurrency exchange, or to purchase cryptocurrency, we need the full details for the company you’re sending money to (company name, address, contact info, banking details, etc.). We also require the final recipient details (full name, address, contact info, banking details, relationship to the final recipient, etc.).
If you don’t provide this information when requesting your transfer, it could cause delays. To initiate this type of wire, call us at 1-877-765-2265.

Receiving a wire transfer
To let us know about an incoming wire transfer, call us at 1-877-765-2265. To get the status of an incoming wire transfer, you'll need to contact the institution the money is coming from.
Here’s the information you’ll need to give to someone who’s sending you a wire transfer.
To receive Canadian dollars or any foreign currency other than U.S. dollars by wire payment into your Manulife Bank of Canada account, you need to provide the following information to the sender:
- Bank ID code: 00300002
- Beneficiary bank name: Royal Bank of Canada
- Beneficiary bank address: MAIN BR-TORONTO 200 BAY ST-MAIN FLR TORONTO ON M5J 2J5
- Beneficiary credit account: 000021183326

To receive U.S. dollars by wire payment into your Manulife Bank of Canada US dollar account, you need to provide the following information to the sender:

FAQ
The fee to send a wire transfer varies depending on the amount of the transfer:
- Up to $10,000: $30
- $10,000.01 to $50,000: $50
- More than $50,000: $65
For incoming wire transfers, we charge a $15 fee to deposit the funds into your account.
All fees are charged in the currency of the account you’re transferring money from or into.
Note: your recipient’s bank may also charge fees to receive the wire transfer, and those fees will be taken from your transferred amount. You may need to add extra funds to your wire transfer to cover those fees. We don’t have details or information about the fees other financial institutions or banks might charge.
The location of the financial institution you’re sending the wire transfer to determines the processing time.
Wire transfers sent to financial institutions:
- within Canada: up to 48 hours
- in the U.S.: up to 5 business days
- outside of Canada and the U.S.: up to 10 business days
When the wire transfer is complete, it will appear as a withdrawal in the transaction history of your account. If there is a problem with your wire transfer, we’ll contact you using the number you provided in your transfer request.
