Online banking is simple – when you know how. Get up to speed on the basics in minutes.

Set up online access to your account.

  1. If you don’t have or don’t know your password, call 1-877-765-2265
  2. Click Sign in; you'll find this in the right hand corner of manulifebank.ca
  3. Enter your access number (the last 9 digits on your Manulife Bank access card)
  4. Enter your password
  5. Click Sign in

Start using online banking to transfer funds, pay bills, and more.

  1. Click Change Password under My Profile in the left menu
  2. Enter your current password
  3. Enter your new password (it must be 6 to 12 characters and contain both numbers and letters)
  4. Enter your new password again
  5. Click Submit Change

Send and receive money instantly in an email or text message.

  1. Click Account Balances in the left menu
  2. See your account balances and total balance in the right column
  3. To see recent transactions, click Transactions next to an account balance
  4. To see account details, including funds on hold, and the current interest rate, click the account number

Organize debt to track repayment and keep investment loan interest tax-deductible.

  1. Click View Statements in the left menu
  2. Select the account
  3. Click the Statement date to view your statement
  4. Save or print the statement if you choose

To transfer money between your Manulife Bank account and your account at another Canadian bank, you need to link your accounts. When you opened your Manulife Bank account, if you made your original deposit from your personal account at another bank may have allowed us to link your account already. Your linked accounts are listed under Transfers in online and mobile banking.

Here’s how to link your bank accounts in online banking:

  1. Sign into online banking.
  2. Under Transfer Funds in the left-side menu, click Link an External Account.
  3. Enter the Branch, Institution and Account number for your external bank account.
  4. Click Browse to upload an image of a void cheque.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Review the agreement and click Agree.
  7. It will take 2-3 business days for your external account to be linked, so check your account after a few days to see if your accounts have been linked.
  1. Sign into online banking.
  2. Click Transfer Funds in the left-side menu.
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to move money between your accounts.
    Note: If you want to transfer money into or out of your external bank account, the transfer must be scheduled at least one business day in the future.
  4. Click Cancel to stop the transfer, Previous to change the transfer details, or Finish to confirm the transfer.
Tip: to review any scheduled transfers, click View future transactions under the Transfer funds section in the left-hand menu. To cancel a scheduled transfer, select the transfer and click Remove transaction.
  1. Sign into online banking.
  2. Click Recurring Fund Transfers in the left-side menu.
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to move money between your accounts.
    Note: transfers into or out of your external bank account must be scheduled at least one business day in the future.
  4. Click Cancel to stop the transfer, Previous to change the transfer details, or Finish to confirm the transfers.
Tip: to review any scheduled transfers, click View future transactions under the Transfer funds section in the left-hand menu. To cancel a scheduled transfer, select the transfer and click Remove transaction.

Set up payees so you can start making bill payments.

  1. Click Add a Payee in the left menu
  2. Enter the company name as it appears on your bill
  3. Click Find company name
  4. Select the correct company name from the dropdown menu
  5. Enter your account number as it appears on your bill
  6. Click Add this payee
  7. Click Cancel to change the details or OK if all the details are correct

Pay a bill today or on a specific date in the future.

  1. Click Pay Bills in the left menu
  2. Select the account you would like to pay the bill from
  3. Select the payee
  4. Enter the dollar amount you want to pay
  5. Select the date you want the bill paid (we recommend choosing dates that are at least two days before the payment due date)
  6. Click Continue
  7. Click Previous to change the details or Finish if all the details are correct

Regularly pay the same amount to a payee.

  1. Click Recurring Bill Payments in the left menu
  2. Select the payee
  3. Enter the dollar amount you want to pay
  4. Select the account you would like to pay the bill from
  5. Select the frequency
  6. Select the start date and end date (we recommend choosing dates that are at least two days before the payment due date)
  7. Click Continue
  8. Click Previous to change the details or Finish if all the details are correct
  9. To see, change, or cancel a recurring bill payment, click View Future Transactions in the left menu

Order standard or custom cheques online.

  1. Click Order Cheques in the left menu
  2. Choose Standard order now or Custom order now (custom orders go to a different website)
  3. Select the account you would like cheques for
  4. Check the box next to the joint account owner’s name (if applicable) to include that name on the cheques too
  5. Confirm your address is correct (this address will appear on your cheques)
  6. Check the box next to your telephone number to include that number on the cheques too
  7. Select the number of cheques you want
  8. Enter a different start number if you choose
  9. To approve the cost and place your order, click Submit Order

Sign up to start making Interac e-Transfers.

  1. Click Get Started under Interac e-Transfer in the left menu
  2. Complete all fields
  3. Click Register

Create a profile for the person you want to send money to.

  1. Click Manage My Recipients under Interac e-Transfer in the left menu
  2. Click Add Recipient
  3. Complete all fields
  4. Click Finish

Send an e-Transfer

  1. Select Send Money under Interac e-Transfer in the left menu
  2. Confirm your contact information is correct (to update it, click Manage My Profile in the left menu)
  3. Confirm the recipient’s contact information is correct (to update it, click Manage My Recipients in the left menu)
  4. Select the account you would like to send money from
  5. Enter the dollar amount
  6. Enter a security question with a strong security answer that can’t be easily guessed or found, and share it with the recipient through a safe channel.
  7. Click Continue
  8. Click Cancel to stop the Interac e-Transfer, Previous to change the details, or Finish if all the details are correct

Receive an e-Transfer

  1. When you receive an email or text message notification and are confident the Interac e-Transfer is legitimate, click the link to open the Interac web page
  2. Select Manulife Bank to deposit the money into your Manulife Bank account
  3. Sign into online banking
  4. If you haven’t registered to make Interac e-Transfers, click Get Started under Interac e-Transfers in the left menu, complete all fields and click Register
  5. Enter the answer to the security question (if you don’t know it, ask the sender by phone or in person)
  6. Select the account you would like to deposit to
  7. Click Accept e-Transfer
  8. Click Cancel to stop the Interac e-transfer, Previous to change the details, or Finish if all the details are correct

Interac e-Transfer tips

  • The cost to send an e-Transfer is either free or $1 per transfer, depending on the account you have. Learn more here.
  • It’s always free to receive an e-Transfer!
  • To protect your account, there is a daily, weekly, and monthly limit for e-Transfers. Learn more here.
  • You’ll get an email or text message when your e-Transfer is accepted.
  • To send a reminder to the recipient, tap Interac e-Transfers, then View my e-Transfers; choose Re-notify recipient
  • To cancel an e-Transfer that hasn’t been deposited, tap Transfers, then Pending Interac e-Transfers; choose Delete this e-Transfer
  • To edit your e-Transfer profile, tap Interac e-Transfers, then Manage my profile
  • To add, edit, or delete e-Transfer recipients, tap Interac e-Transfers, then Manage my recipients

Track part of your debt separately at the same low variable interest rate as your main account.

  1. Select Open Sub-accounts in the left menu
  2. Read the description of sub-account types
  3. Click Continue
  4. Select the Manulife One account you want to create a sub-account from
  5. Click Continue
  6. Enter a sub-account nickname if you choose
  7. Check your available amount of debt and then enter the amount of debt you want to allocate to this sub-account
  8. Choose the type of sub-account
  9. Click Calculate to see the estimated monthly interest-only payments Manulife Bank will withdraw from your main Manulife One account
  10. Click Continue
  11. Click Previous to change the details, or Submit if all the details are correct

You can close your tracking sub-account at any time.

  • Term sub-accounts close automatically when the balance is paid off
