You have questions. We have answers.
We’ve put together the following FAQs to help you stay well informed about the upcoming changes to your new Manulife Bank credit card.
Has my payment due date changed?
Yes. Your payment date has been adjusted for your new card which will give you extra time to make your payment during this transition period. You can confirm your payment date by logging into your account online or through the mobile app.
Where can I find my new statement once it’s available?
- Login to online banking or the mobile app
- Click on your credit card account
- Select “Manage account features” and then choose “Activity” from the top menu
- Click the “Statements” tab to view or download your statements
What happened to the balance from my old card?
The balance from your previous card was automatically transferred to your new card. You’ll see a single transaction on your statement that reflects the total previous balance transferred. The description for this transaction will appear as “Previous Purchase Balance”
Why do some transactions on my statement have the letters “MG” beside them?
Transactions labeled with “MG” were originally made using your previous card and have now posted to your new card.
What if I have pre-authorized payments set-up to come from my current Manulife Bank credit card?
As soon as you activate your new Manulife Bank credit card, it is important that you notify the merchants of your new card number and expiry date. This helps ensure your pre-authorized payments continue to go through uninterrupted.
How do I make sure my payments to my Manulife Bank credit card aren’t interrupted?
If you have pre-authorized payments set up to automatically pay your credit card every month, your payments will be directed to your new card for you.
If you make manual payments each month from your bank account, you’ll need to update your Manulife Bank Visa account to your new credit card account number.
What if I have authorized users on my account?
Your current authorized users will also receive a new card with a unique card number. Authorized users will not be able to use their cards until after the primary account user has activated their new Manulife Bank credit card.
Why do I have to create a Manulife ID?
A Manulife ID is required to access online banking and the Manulife Bank mobile app.
What happens to the cash back I have accumulated on my existing card? Will my rewards move to my new card?
Any rewards the were not yet redeemed on your previous card were automatically transferred to your new card and will be shown as points on your statement going forward.
For example: If you have a balance of $10 in cash back, upon activating your new card the $10 will transfer over to your new account and appear as 1,000 points on your next statement (the equivalent of $10).
Rewards can be redeemed starting at 100 points for $1. You can redeem rewards at any time by logging in to your account.
As a Manulife Bank Visa Infinite cardholder I currently have the monthly fee on my Manulife One account waived. Will I continue to have my Manulife One account fee waived?
Yes! There is no change to your monthly fee waiver. We will continue to waive your Manulife One monthly account fee every year you spend at least $20,000 on your credit card.
How will my rewards earnings change on my new Manulife Bank credit card?
We are evolving our rewards program to offer you more ways to earn rewards in a broader range of everyday and lifestyle categories including:
- Health, Wellness and related subscriptions
- Travel, Dining and Entertainment
- Everyday essentials and more
Rewards are shown as points on your statement. Points are calculated by multiplying the Net Purchase value by the Reward rate for the category, then multiplying the result by 100.
For example, a Net Purchase of $1,000 in the 1% Rewards category is calculated as follows: $1,000 x 1% x 10 = 1,000 points. Points calculations are rounded to the nearest whole point.
